Promedica presented CareSens Air at the Technology in Diabetology 2025 congress

14. 10. 2025

After a long break, Promedica once again actively participated in one of the most important professional gatherings in the field of modern diabetology – the Technology in Diabetology congress, which took place from October 2 to 4, 2025, at the Parkhotel Plzeň. The event, organized in cooperation with the Czech Diabetes Society, attracted hundreds of experts from across the country and abroad.

Our company presented the latest technology from the portfolio of South Korean manufacturer i-Sens – the CareSens Air continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor and the Sens365 application for sharing data from the sensor for smartphones and PC web browsers. This innovative solution was introduced in a lecture by Prof. Kateřina Štechová, MD, PhD, from the Geriatric Clinic of Motol University Hospital, who familiarized participants with the principle of operation, measurement accuracy, and possible uses of the sensor in clinical practice. She also used case studies to illustrate the necessity of CGM in the current treatment of diabetes and the improvement of care for frail patients with advanced diabetes as well as active patients of productive age, for whom CGM systems offer hope of returning to their original professions, which they had to leave due to diabetes.

The importance of continuous monitoring was reflected across several professional blocks in this year’s program – e.g., “Continuous Monitoring” (Friday, October 3), which featured presentations on the PRAVis-CGM project, the use of CGM in hospitalized patients, and monitoring after liver transplantation. Experiences with the use of sensors during pregnancy and new trends in the combination of CGM and insulin pumps were also discussed, for example in the “Patch Pumps” section and during workshops dedicated to hybrid systems.

The great interest of experts was also confirmed by practical testing – during the congress, approximately 90 participants tested the CareSens Air sensor and appreciated its simple application, comfort, and intuitive mobile application.

Our participation in this year’s event confirmed the company’s commitment to actively contributing to the development of modern care for patients with diabetes and supporting innovations that improve their quality of life.
