Technologies That See Further: Nursing Conference 2026 Brought New Perspectives on Diabetes Care
On March 19–20, 2026, the Nursing Conference 2026 took place at Hotel Atlantis in Rozdrojovice, focusing on modern approaches in diabetology. The event was attended by approximately 50 diabetes nurses from across the Czech Republic.
The program focused on how to effectively work with glycaemic monitoring today and how to integrate modern technologies into everyday clinical practice. It featured expert lectures, experience sharing, and hands-on workshops.
The opening session outlined the evolution of self-monitoring—from traditional glucometers to current systems for managing glycaemic data. Emphasis was placed on how to correctly interpret data, use it in outpatient settings, and base treatment decisions on it.
Another part of the program addressed the limitations of conventional measurement and the benefits of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), including the introduction of the CareSens Air system. It also highlighted the crucial role nurses play in patient education and in supporting long-term adherence to treatment.
The second day offered a practical perspective on using CGM in daily practice—from selecting suitable patients to demonstrating specific benefits for treatment management. It also included an interactive workshop focused on working with data and explaining it clearly to patients.
The conference confirmed that the role of the diabetes nurse continues to expand, and that data-driven approaches and continuous monitoring are now key to delivering high-quality diabetes care.
We thank all participants and speakers for their active engagement and for sharing their experience.
