On Sunday 22nd April 2018, our IRK Division provided clinical support for cardiology performance, which was presented as a live case within the frame of the 21st annual Prague Ablation Workshop, held from 21st to 24th April 2018 at the Institute of Molecular Genetics, the Czech Academy of Sciences. This workshop, organized by the IKEM Cardiology Clinic and the Hospital Na Homolce is attended every year by leading Czech and foreign experts in cardiology-arrhythmia.
This time it was the electrophysiological performance of radiofrequency ablation of ventricular tachycardia at the catheterization workplace of the hospital Na Homolce where a 3D model of the left ventricle was created using the electro-anatomical 3D mapping system. This provides the physicians with a visual idea of the shape of the patient’s heart section and enables them to identify the sources of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias. Subsequently, radiofrequency (thermal) energy is applied to individual locations in the heart, determined according to the created 3D model, using the so-called ablation catheter inserted through the groin into the heart. This will destroy dangerous sources of arrhythmias.
During this difficult procedure, our Impella CP was used to provide hemodynamic support when the need for dangerous arrhythmia had to be triggered and let it run for several minutes so that physicians could with the greatest possible precision identify and destroy the exact locus of arrhythmia. As the patient’s heart rate performance has been greatly reduced after extensive myocardial infarction, heart failure would lead to a critical drop in blood pressure and insufficient oxygenation of important organs, especially the brain.
A successfully completed demanding procedure lasted almost five hours and was performed by the head of the Department of Cardiology at the Hospital Na Homolce, Professor MD. Petr Neužil, CSc., FESC together with Professor MD. Vivek Reddy, a doctor from The Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, U.S.A., and the lead physician of the Multifunctional Catheterization Laboratory of the Hospital Na Homolce MD. Jan Petrů. In addition to the established indications for the use in the high-risk coronary interventions and cardiogenic shock, the use of Impella has been expanded in the Czech Republic also into the ablation of hemodynamically unstable ventricular tachycardia.

On February 27, 2018, we were honoured with the AON BEST EMPLOYER 2017 award for our amazing results in the largest motivation study in the Czech Republic.
These studies are run around the world, and this year we were among the seven award-winning companies in the Czech Republic. We managed to defend the title also for the 2017 year and as our General says, it is more difficult to defend than to win it … and we have defended!
Great thanks to everyone who has taken part and we are already looking forward to the next year run!
Dear colleagues,

Thanks to an excellent homework of the entire team, a pleasant and at the same time unforgettable stand was created, that has become a background for our clients and the team.
The goal of the congress was meeting all medical and paramedical personnel working with chronic wounds, promotion of interdisciplinary cooperation and exchange of mutual experience and knowledge on wound healing and wound defects.

The 15th Conference of Acute Cardiology, held by the Czech Association of Acute Cardiology, took place at the Spa Hotel Thermal in Karlovy Vary from 3rd to 5th December 2017.
The program included lectures on pre-hospital and hospital acute and intensive cardiac care. As a part of the program, before the actual congress started, there was also an Ultrasound Diagnostic Course at the ICU and a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Workshop.
PROMEDICA PRAHA GROUP, a.s. was the silver partner of this conference. Our Division of Intervention Radiology and Cardiology participated in the conference as an exhibitor. On our stand, we presented short-term cardiac support – left side Impella CP, Impella 5.0 and right side Impella RP. Since one of the conference topics was mechanical heart support for short-term and long-term use, our Impella has excited a great attention not only of interventional cardiologists, but also of cardiac surgeons and perfusionists.

PROMEDICA PRAHA GROUP, a.s. has been working on the relationship with our business partners for 26 years, not only in the business, but also as the friends … we try to help the hospitals with various projects.
This year, during the pre-Christmas season, we joined forces with the academic painter Romana Andělová, the author of illustrations for children’s books and cartoon series, and created gifts in the form of bed linen for children’s departments of our partner hospitals.
In the Strakonice and Jihlava hospitals, fabulous characters from the Bimbule planet – Krkouni inhabited the children’s beds. We handed the presents over together with Mrs. Andělová in the departments of small patients and thanked the leadership of both hospitals for their current collaboration.
And given that Krkouni are very popular also in the hospitals, we plan to continue with more projects in the next year.
