9. 2. 2023

From 23 to 27 January 2023, the traditional Colours of Sepsis conference took place at the Congress Hotel Clarion Ostrava, where doctors and nurses opened up current topics in the field of care for critically ill patients.

The 25th Colours of Sepsis returned to its “pre-covid” growth wave – more than 2,000 participants, 411 lectures and expert inputs, 348 speakers, 69 exhibitors.

The congress has been joined by other professional activities as the years have progressed – Updates in Paediatric Intensive Care (this year for the twentieth time), Postgraduate Course for Critical Care Nurses (this year for the tenth time) and Young Intensivists Day (this year for the fifth time).

The coordinator and guarantor of the professional programme was again the Department of Anaesthesia, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Medicine of the Ostrava University Hospital and the Department of Paediatric Medicine of the Ostrava University Hospital, the organiser was Sanopharm CZ.

This year’s event was held under the auspices of the 1st Vice-Chairman of the Senate of the Czech Republic, Professor Jiří Drahoš, who also gave a festive lecture entitled ‘From Order and Chaos in Science to Chaos in Politics’ with the subtitle ‘Fractals and Chaos’.

Promedica’s Intensive Care Division presented at this important congress, where the Sinapi chest suction was repeatedly the most popular. Furthermore, the Interventional Urology and Venous Therapy division presented its portfolio of Picc and Midline long-term catheters and venous ports from manufacturers Angiodynamics and Plan1Health. Wound care with PICO 7 outpatient vacuum therapy, IV port coverage and pressure ulcer prevention materials. Newly added is the Surgical Division, of whose offerings Toffeln OR shoes caught the eye the most.

Our booth was again a bit bigger this year and according to the visitors’ words, it was one of the nicest, which makes us very happy. The atmosphere at the stand was relaxed and cheerful. We were visited by a large number of participants, with some existing customers bringing along others interested in our products. It was confirmed that we are perceived as a stable and reliable partner and we had the opportunity to pass on information to the participants from Slovakia. We definitely consider this conference as one of the most important and we will look forward to next year.
