PROMEDICA PRAHA GROUP, a.s. has become an exclusive distributor of a complete portfolio of wet wound healing, negative vacuum therapy and hydrosurgery system from the Smith & Nephew company for the Czech market since September 1, 2018.

On August 15, 2018, we have installed at the ENT clinic of MUDr. Fořt (FortMedica s.r.o.) the first examination unit from Euroclinic. The unit includes a microscope, video string with HD camera system and is equipped with 4 castors chair.
At the clinic, physicians deal with a vestibular disorder “vestibular syndrome” that can only be diagnosed with special devices such as: STABILOMETRIC PLATFORM, VESTIBULAR VIBRATOR, FUNCTIONAL HEAD IMPULSE TEST, which were also ordered and delivered.
Another device we delivered at the ENT department was the RINOMANOMETER. This instrument can measure nasal passage before and after nose operations. In addition, the device is used for examination of the patients who suffer from snoring.

PROMEDICA PRAHA GROUP supported families of fallen soldiers in Afghanistan through an official fundraising collection.

The three Czech service members were killed on August 5 by a suicide bomber while conducting a joint foot patrol. The suicide bomber blew himself up in their close distance near their Bagram base at the moment when the patrol approached him with the targeting weapons during their patrol.
Those who are interested can support our heroes’ families at the account of charity collections established by the Military Solidarity Fund by the end of August.

For several years in a row, an event commemorating the day when our fighters landed in Prague at the Ruzyně airport in 1945 is organized in Prague on the 14th August. They arrived after a several-day journey from England where they helped to win the victory over the fascist and Nazi evils in a heavy air combat where they were fighting alongside their British, Polish, Canadian, American and other mates and brought freedom back to our country.
Our airmen wanted to arrive in Prague in May, but unfortunately they were not allowed to do so and could not return to the liberated country until the August. Nevertheless, they could at least come back in a new type of Spitfire, the aircrafts that were flown in our country for three years before they were sold to Israel. This year’s event took place in Malá Strana, Prague, near the Winged Lion Memorial. In addition to many special guests and war veterans, the Czech Spitfire Club supported by PROMEDICA PRAHA GROUP, a.s. with the Supermarine Spitfire model took participated there and helped to create a dignified air for this piety event.

We have a new Mercedes Benz ATEGO 918 in the fleet and a new Crafter 2.0TDI FWD 4motion SR. The vehicles meet the highest requirements for the transport of temperature-controlled goods, and all meet the strictest Euro 6 emission standards.

The Czech Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, the Clinic of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery in the Pardubice Region Hospital and the University Hospital Hradec Králové organized a joint ENT conference on “Sleep Medicine, Bleeding After Tonsillectomy and Tonsilotomy” in Kraskov- Třemošnice from 18th to 19th May 2018. The event was organized by MD Jan Vodička Ph.D. and the senior consultant MD Karel Pokorný Ph.D. from the Pardubice Hospital.

About 80 doctors and nurses attended the conference. At the stand we have presented Smith & Nephew, Euroclinic and Jena Surgical products from our portfolio. Participation in this conference and an interest in our products should help us to develop the business further and also to expand our collaboration with the existing customers.

On Monday, June 6, 2018, the conference entitled “Five Hospitals One Team” was held at the House of Culture Dukla, Pardubice. The event was organized by the Hospital of the Pardubice Region, a.s. Participants in this event were nurses and doctors, leaders and managers of individual fields of Pardubice, Chrudim, Ústí nad Orlicí, Svitavy, Litomyšl.

The conference was organized by Mgr. Gabriela Medunová, MBA Nursing Care Manager at the Pardubice Hospital. The conference included lectures on various topics throughout different medical specialties. Healthcare professionals shared their experiences and achievements in the healthcare.

PROMEDICA PRAHA GROUP, a.s. was represented in the conference by its Advanced Wound Management Division and the Consumable Medical Supplies Division with the support of other divisions. A portfolio of Smith & Nephew materials was available on the stand – wound treatment and wound management. The Smith & Nephew innovations were presented, which attracted interest of the healthcare professionals and were very positively accepted. The Consumable Medical Supplies Division presented gloves and many other materials that the medical staff could try on the spot.

From 6th to 9th May 2018, our division of Interventional Radiology and Cardiology, together with the Medical Technology Division, participated for the third time in the annual Congress of the Czech Society of Cardiology, which has been traditionally held in Brno.
At our stand, we introduced short-term heart support Abiomed’s Impella, which has been distributed to the hospitals by our company since last October. All of our heart support models were exhibited, including a demo of the Impella CP series, which was connected to the controller and used in the “artificial heart”. Video presentation for these products was given as well. Our products have attracted great interest from the professional public. Leaflets for the products in question have also been provided.
