Medic of 2019

The fifth year of the prestigious competition Medic of the Year 2019 took place in the Hospital České Budějovice from 12th to 14th April. It is intended for the students of 4th to 6th year of medical faculties from the Czech Republic.

The announcement of the results took place on Saturday 13 April with the participation of the Minister of Health Mgr. et Mgr. Adam Vojtěch and Governor of the South Bohemia Region
Mgr. Ivana Stráská.

We have participated as one of the main partners. Ing. Horváthová, HR & Compliance Manager, presented the award to the team under the guidance of Captain Adéla Samešová from the 3rd Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague.

The Medic of the Year competition is organized by the South Bohemia Hospitals in cooperation with the South Bohemia Region.

55th Diabetes Care Days Luhačovice

It has become a tradition that Promedica, through its Diabetology division, has participated as the Golden Partner of the Congress “55th Diabetes Care Days Luhačovice”, which took place from 11th to 13th April 2018 and as every year was organized under the auspices of the Czech Diabetes Society.

Our division had the opportunity to present the Ascensia Diabetes Care Blood Glucose Meter together with the application for a mobile device. The introduction took place by an active participation in the form of presentations both at the doctor’s section stand and at the nurses ‘section, followed by a presentation in the lecture hall on the practical use of the modern technology CONTOUR ™ PLUS ONE and CONTOUR ™ DIABETES app.This year we have provided fast food refreshment: hot dogs, savoury and sweet pancakes in front of the entrance to the congress premises. We are very pleased that Promedica’s bistro “Diet Mistake”was a success.

There were 500 diabetes care doctors and 200 nursesfrom all over the Czech Republic participating in the congress. On behalf of Diabetology Division, we are pleased that a great interest has been shown in the innovative CONTOUR ™ PLUS ONE blood glucose meter and its accessories that bring new satisfied users and the growing prestige of diabetes care field.

ORL workshop

Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of University Hospital Ostrava, Faculty of Medicine of University of Ostrava, Czech Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery organized on April 8 – 9, 2019 a workshop on nose and sinus diseases, lacrimal pathways (conservative treatment, septum surgery, functional endonasal surgery of sinuses, lacrimal pathways).

Czech and foreign lecturers were invited to the event; Prof. Rainer Weber, GermanyAssoc. Prof. Achim Beule, MD, Germany, Jürgen Abrams, MD et MD Hamm, Germany, Prof.Viktor Chrobok, MD, PhD.,  Hradec Králove, Assoc. Prof. Petr Čelakovský, MD, Hradec Králové, senior consultant Radim Kaňa, MD, VFN Prague.

Around 80 doctors attended this year’s 10th run, and the worshop brought participants a lot of new information, shared experiences and challenges to help them in their daily mission. The senior consultant Kaňa used our NASASTENT nasal tamponade for his operation. In the lecture on epistaxis, our balloon nasal tamponade  RAPID RHINO has been recommended. We have aroused interest in our products, which should help us further develop our business and expand our cooperation with the existing customers.

Seminar – Prevention and Treatment of Decubitus

On the last Friday in March, PROMEDICA INSTITUT s.r.o. organized for the Wound Care Division of Promedica a professional seminar on the topic of prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, healing power of moist therapy. The seminar was held at the pleasant premises of a new D1 Hotel in Ostrovačice. The program of lectures was based mostly on patient case reports and the healing effects of new materials. There was a very lively discussion at the end of the event.

All questioned participants praised both the content of the seminar and the organization of the event as such.

The professional guarantor of the seminar was prof. MUDr. Vladimír Krass Ph.D.

65 participants from the ranks of non-medical healthcare professionals and 9 doctors registered for the seminar.

The event was included in the lifelong education of non-medical healthcare staff by the Czech Nurses Association and the Czech Medical Chamber awarded 3 credits for doctors’ training.

A total of 6 lectures were held in which 5 speakers presented themselves.

Children’s Diabetes Care Congress 2019

Promedica by its Diabetology Division has participated as the Golden Partner of the “Children’s Diabetes Care Congress 2019“, that took place on 22 – 23 March, 2019.

Our division had the opportunity to present the blood glucose meter CONTOUR ™ PLUS ONE together with an application to the mobile device CONTOUR™ DIABETES app. The presentation was held at the stand followed by another presentation in the lecture hall.

The conference was attended by 200 participants – doctors and nursesfrom Children’s Diabetes Care from all over the Czech Republic. We at the Diabetology Division, are pleased that the participants have shown a great interest in the innovative CONTOUR™ PLUS ONE. The system brings new satisfied users and the growing prestige of diabetes care.

AON BEST EMPLOYER 2018

Dear colleagues,

We are extremely excited to confirm that we were honoured with the AON BEST EMPLOYER 2018 award for our amazing results in the largest motivation study in the Czech Republic.

These studies are run around the world, and this year we were among the seven award-winning companies in the Czech Republic. We managed to defend the title also for the 2017 year and as our General says, it is more difficult to defend than to win it … and we have defended yet again!

Ultrasonographic Elastography seminar

On 21 February 2019, the first year of the seminar, dealing with the topic of Ultrasonographic Elastographywas held at the Golf Hotel in Prague.

The morning part of the program was devoted to the theoretical lectures of MUDr. Kukulský, an application specialist at HITACHI. Furthermore, our request for presentation of their experience with elastography was accepted by MUDr. Dvořák from the Regional Hospital Liberecwith a lecture on SHW in the Clinical Practiceand MUDr. Hejda from the Faculty Hospital in Pilsenwith a lecture on the Use of RTE in the Clinical Practice.

After a theoretical block and a quick refreshment, a hands-on practice workshopon three of our HITACHI Arietta 70 and HITACHI Arietta 850ultrasound devices was ready for the participants in the afternoon. The participants could try out the both types of elastography: ShearWave elastography, which is a method of the future for non-invasive liver fibrosis, and RealTime elastography, in which the elastic properties of tissues are defined by the difference in UZ signal before and after tissue compression.

We are very pleased with the full attendance of the seminar by doctors from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We sincerely hope that the acquired knowledge and skills both from the theoretical and practical part will be of benefit and help to them in the elastography examination of patients.

21st Colours of Sepsis Ostrava

From the 29th January to the 1st February 2019the 21stColours of Sepsis Ostrava, which has a postgraduate character and is intended for intensive care physicians and nurses, took place at the premises of Hotel Clarion Ostrava. The organizer of the event is SANOPHRAM CZ in close cooperation with the Clinique of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Medicine and the Department of Paediatric Intensive and Resuscitation Care of the Children’s Medicine Clinic of the University Hospital in Ostrava.

The conference included 6 postgraduate nursing courses in intensive care and 16 symposia “News in children intensive care”.The program of the event has been prepared in close cooperation with the leading experts of Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyne, Slovak Medical Society and Institute of Intensive Medicine in IPVZ Ostrava. The Chairman of the Organizing Committee is MUDr. Roman Kula, CSc.The event takes place under the auspices of the Faculty Hospital in Ostrava, the Czecho-Slovak Forum for Sepsis and also under the auspices of the specialized medicine associations CMA of JEP and SMS and other important institutions.

The congress aimed at the meeting of all medical and non-medical staff working at acute care beds (Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Unit), promotion of interdisciplinary cooperation and exchange of mutual experience and knowledge in this field.

Promedica was an exhibitor at the conference. At our stand, we presented the Wound Care and Intensive Medicine Divisions.

The Wound Care Division presented a wide portfolio of Smith & Nephew materials. The participants have shown the greatest interest in the cover dressing and IV site dressings.
Also the complex wound care assortment supplemented by Renasys and Pico vacuum therapy was highly appreciated.

The Intensive Medicine Division presented special medical material for IC and AR Units. The SINAPI chest drainage system, where we have currently 60% of the market share in the given category, has attracted most visitors.

There were 1737 doctors and nurses participating in this year’s congress. Among the visitors there was a large number of our regular clients who brought new clients to our stand and thus created opportunities for development of new cooperation.

Wound Care and Intensive Medicine Divisions

XVII. National Congress of Wound Management with International Participation

In the days of 24th January and 25th January 2019 the 17th National Congress with international participation was held with the theme – Interdisciplinary cooperation in the wound management and skin defects. The Congress has traditionally been held in the premises of the University of Pardubice, under the auspices of the Czech Wound Management Society, in cooperation with the Faculty of Healthcare Studies of the Pardubice University and the Pardubice Hospital, the Pardubice Region Hospital Inc. and others. All 2230 participants to this event were cordially invited by the Senior Consultant MUDr. Ivo Burešof the geriatric department of the Pardubice Hospital.

For the first time this year, the Wound Care Division presented a broad portfolio of Smith & Nephew materials. to which The entire presentation at this conference was targeted at the wound dressing and negative pressure wound therapy. All the instruments were displayed at the stand: Renasys, Pico, Versajet and materials for the negative pressure wound therapy. There were workshops and discussions on the negative pressure wound therapy.

The revolutionary MolecuLight imaging device with the patented technology created by MolecuLight Inc. attracted a lot of interest too.

The Congress was designed for practitioners, surgeons, dermatologists, geriatricians, diabetologists, internists, and other medical doctors who deal with wound care. It was further designated for nurses from both outpatient and inpatient care facilities, as well as from home care.

Content of lectures dealt with the new findings in wound management, new materials, atypical procedures, wound infections, debridement, peripheral vascular diseases such as etiol factor -surgical and conservative procedures, chronic venous insufficiency, decubitus, diabetic foot, burns and factors affecting wound healing.

We were able to pride ourselves on our representative stand, a lot of innovations, a wonderful atmosphere at the stand, a professional approach and a great enthusiasm that was perceived and positively evaluated throughout the conference by those who spent time at our stand and paid a visit to us and shew an interest in our materials.
